Okay, hands up (and this may seem a bit weird, but Okay, hands up (and this may seem a bit weird, but we have a point!), who of us that were born in the '80s and '90s remember those white-out pens that we used to doodle all over our school binders and books? Soooo guilty over here!

White ink on acrylic is actually a really similar concept. Because most traditional inks are transparent when printed on a clear substrate like acrylic, you can see through the colour. White ink can act as a light blocker, and then colour can be printed over top, or, it can act as standalone printing on the clear material. Because of its chemical makeup, the ink is similar in consistency to white-out pens. It makes the design really stand out against dark or clear substrates.

Perhaps our high-school years influenced the creation of this print method. Weren't we so clever!

Acrylic is an incredibly fun substrate to work with and send out to guests.

If you want to send out acrylic for your invitations, here are a few things to remember:

• Acrylic comes with a higher price tag than paper print due to the difference in material costs and printing methods.

• It's a heavier material than paper, so be prepared for higher mailing costs

• The thicker the acrylic, the harder it will be to fit it into a standard envelope. Ask us for gusseted invitation envelopes, which are made especially for thicker parcels.

See how we incorporate this colour throughout stationery sets this week. And a quick note, it's not all nautical themed!
